The Comfort of Your Sound (2015)

for TTBB Men's Choir

This piece is both a gift to my brothers of the Lambda Beta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia as well as a manifestation of my

emotions as I end my responsibilities as a collegiate member of the chapter and transition into an alumn. The music is written to represent
both the sadness and the gratitude one feels when they must leave the friends they've made in the pursuit of new chapters in life. The Comfort of Your Sound is a thank you letter to those who have touched one's life and will never be forgotten as ways are parted.

The Comfort of Your Sound
by Coleman Rowlett

Dear my Brothers,
the time is near that we must part.
Let us not forget that Once, Always, and Long
we will be bound.

Dear my Brothers,
Let us sing together once more.
Through song, mend my heart. I wish to feel
the comfort of your sound.

Dear my Brothers,
I have given my whole self to you.
You gave so much more. Our Brotherhood
made this broken man whole.

Dear my Brothers,
Through the tears, quarrels, and laughter
we have grown as men that
Once, Always, and Long forever bound.

I love you, my Brothers.
We will meet again.

Premiered April 2016 by the Lambda Beta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
